One of their responses to another dissatisfied (1-star review) client says, "Our goal at Banasky Insurance is to understand and cater to our clients." Let me tell you, this couldn't be further from the truth. My immediate impression when I spoke with a Banasky agent over the phone was that she and the agency only cares about lining their own pockets, with little to no interest whatsoever in meeting nor exceeding the needs and hopes of any potential new business. In my particular case, I'm a partially-disabled vet with limited opportunities to earn significantly more than just a humble, though livable, income, so I indeed needed the get he best value and affordability from a personal auto insurance policy, especially in today's economy. I also have a long-standing existing, active auto policy (which means I wasn't trying to get a new policy after a lapse of insurance). It's only a matter that the law requires me to get a new auto policy started in Utah, because I no longer maintain residence in Idaho, and the agency that wrote my policy in Idaho was not licensed in Utah. So, what seemed like a simple thing, I just needed to get a Utah auto policy effective before cancelling the one in Idaho. When I explained to the Banasky agent my desired (and Utah State-legal) policy limits, so that I could afford the premium on a liability-only auto insurance for my 98 Ford Windstar, the first words out of the agent's mouth were, "Oh, we stopped writing policy limits that low a long time ago." And even thought the agent, Terra, was quickly responsive to send me a quote, she more than doubled the coverage limits I requested (and some), claiming that even this quote she provided was below the policy limits their agency will normally write. Effectively, the premium quote she sent me would've ended up being more than twice (almost 3X) my existing Idaho policy premium. Now, I have enough wisdom in life to easily recognize when someone is trying to fleece me under the false premise that it's "in my best interest" to go with those higher policy limits for "my protection." That's NOT in the least true! Bottom line, it was in the agent's sole best interest to only write a policy that she perceived would pay her higher commissions. It's clear to see by the other reviews that this is also the a company-wide mentality. All this to conclude that in just one additional phone call to a different local auto insurance agency, I found and amazing agent, who not only met my needs but exceeded my expectations in what it truly means to provide a high-level of customer service and care for the potential client (me) who is ready and willing to do business. This other local agency (Price Ins. in Sandy) was easily able to save me an average of $5 per month, all the while quoting from the same nationally acclaimed auto insurance company (Progressive) that Terra at Banasky did. So it wasn't a matter of it couldn't be done. It was a matter from a Banasky and their agent's worldview that they didn't want to do it. Period.
